He tried a big field-service platform, but it wanted him to adopt scheduling, invoicing, a CRM and timesheets all at once just to get quoting, and the crew never used it. He even asked an AI chatbot to draft a quote once; it invented prices.
What we would build
A small web tool he opens on his phone browser at the property: pick the services (mowing, mulch, sod, hedge trim), enter measurements, and his own price book calculates the total. One tap emails the customer a clean branded PDF quote before he leaves the driveway.
An open-quote list shows which quotes haven't been answered, so nothing goes cold. No CRM, no timesheets, no platform migration; just the one bottleneck, solved.
